The black box conceals the power wires and pressure switch. This heater is used to replace an existing HydroQuip Versiheater with a 9 pin cord. The 9 pin cord style has been discontinued. This heater will serve as a direct replacement. The power and pressure switch connections will by-pass the old 9 pin wire harness and connect directly to the circuit board.
