Frame Size: The frame size of spa pumps relates to the motor diameter and is usually given on the pump label. It can also be determined by measuring the distance between the through-bolts. With spa pumps, it is either one or the other - 48FR or 56FR.

Horsepower: Take note of the color bands on the impeller, that dictates the horsepower of the impeller, which should match the motor hp, and match your new wet end as well.

Plumbing Connection: Make sure the wet end will match the type that is being replaced such as side discharge or center discharge, frame size (48 frame or 56 frame pump) and plumbing size (usually 2 inches or 2 1/2 inch or a combination).
- Discharge Style: Side discharge or Center Discharge.
