Diverter Handle
The 2" referres to the 2" plumbing valve it controls and the 1" means 1.5 inch plumbing valve it controles.
The 2" handle is for the larger water diverters. Normally positioned by the main controle panel. The smaller one is for individual seats or waterfalls.
To keep from breaking the handle. Undo the cap that the handle is placed, lubricate the O rings. This cap unthreads Right to Left.
