Plumbing Manifold
Hot tub plumbing manifolds and fittings are essential components used by all spa manufacturers.
They are primarily made of PVC and serve to distribute the water and airflow within the hot tub system.
Manifolds are PVC parts in a hot tub that split up the water flow from the pump to the jets.
The main pump line is thus reduced into several sub-lines that connect directly or via another manifold to individual hot tub jet lines.
Air manifolds are used to split up the flow of air from the air plumbing lines used when there is a blower installed or to distribute venturi air to an air control valve.
Manifolds come in different shapes and sizes and can be arranged by the number of ports.
Fittings include a variety of components such as hoses, check valves, unions, thermowells, and diverter valves.
These parts work together to control and direct the flow of water in your hot tub.
For instance, check valves prevent water from flowing back into the system, while diverter valves allow you to adjust the water flow between different sections of your hot tub.
When installing or replacing these components, they are typically glued into place using PVC cement or glue.
It’s important to ensure the joint cures before allowing water back in.
